Did Keep & Clear delete my photos?

No. The app never deletes anything by itself, and confirmed deletions are not immediate removals. When you confirm, the app hands the list to Apple Photos, which shows its own prompt and moves the items to Recently Deleted. They stay there for 30 days. To get them back, open Photos and go to Albums > Recently Deleted, then select the items and choose Recover.

How do I look at things I already kept?

Categories > Come back to > Already Kept. Every decision you have made stays visible and can be changed.

Why is look-alike scanning slow?

Because it is doing real work on your phone rather than on a server. The app generates a description of every image on the device so it can group near-identical shots, and a large library takes a while the first time. You can leave the screen: the scan resumes where it stopped rather than starting again.

Why does the space I freed not match what my iPhone reports?

Two reasons, both normal:

• Deleted items sit in Recently Deleted for 30 days and still occupy space on the phone until that period ends or you empty the album.
• Items that live only in iCloud were not taking up space on the phone in the first place. Removing them frees iCloud storage, not local storage.

Why can’t the app show how much iCloud storage I have free?

iOS does not make the size of an iCloud plan, or how much of it is used, available to any third-party app. Keep & Clear can only show what it can actually measure: how much of your library is stored on the device and how much lives only in iCloud. To see your iCloud plan, open the iOS Settings app and tap your name, then iCloud.

I bought Full access and it is not showing up.

Open Keep & Clear and choose Settings > Restore purchases, while signed in to the App Store with the Apple Account used for the purchase. Full access is a one-time purchase and is family shareable, so a family member’s purchase can also be restored this way.

Which iPhones are supported?

Keep & Clear requires an iPhone running iOS 17 or later.

How do I remove everything the app has stored?

Settings > Delete all Keep & Clear data, or delete the app. Either one removes the app’s stored decisions and measurements, and neither touches your photos. See the privacy policy for what is stored.
